A few weeks ago, I successfully made a movie with Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum Production Suite 11 trial version and sent it to DVDA 5.0 trial version to create a DVD with menus. I burned the DVD and everything was great.
Since then I've purchased the product and updated to Vegas build 247 and DVDA build 150. I also updated Sound Forge and Vocal Eraser. I have not installed any codec packs. I have allowed iTunes to update QuickTime to 7.7. I don't know if any of those updates are the source of my AC3 problem.
Now when I try to open that previously successful DVDA project I get an error saying: "An error occurred opening the media file" and it lists the AC3 file from the project.
If I create a new movie for DVD in Vegas it renders the mpg and AC3 files and sends it to DVDA to create a DVD with menus. DVDA opens and immediately displays a error message: "Warning" An error occurred while opening one or more files. The proper stream could not be found in the media file." The details button lists the AC3 file for the movie.
I submitted the problem on the Sony Creative Software Tech Support site, but I have not received and answer yet. I searched the knowledgebase for AC3 problems and found a message suggesting installing a trial version of Cinescore 1.0, but that knowledgebase message is very old and the link does not work. I'm suspicious of old advice anyway, it may no longer be relevant and installing something else may make the problem worse. Any suggestions?
