DVDA Background Audio

DVDA is giving me fits!!! I have burned quite a few DVDs using DVDA in the last several months with no problems in the background audio area. Now, I am attempting to create a short DVD with a single menu item.

On the main menu I insert a 0:20 music clip in the background audio area. Every time I render/prepare the DVD and preview it, the background music is choppy and broken up.

I don't know why this suddenly has begun happening. If I remove the media from the menu, the background audio sounds fine. But as soon as I add any video media, the background audio is jerky and broken up. I've changed audio clips and tried several different video media with the same results.

I have rebooted and reloaded DVDA in out of desperation.

Has anyone else had this problem before?

Please help... Thanks,
TomG

I have a DVD that breaks up on the background audio in the menu but it only shows up on my laptop. I have not had a single stand-alone player do the same thing...Is yours breaking up on your computer or a standalone player.

Also, what is the bit-rate of the project? What is the source audio? Encoding to AC3 or PCM?

The bit-rate of the prepare I have tried is 8 Mpbs and 6 Mpbs
The souce of the audio is MP3
Encoding to AC3.

The breakup is occuring on my PC, and I have tried playback through WMP and Sonic CinePlayer.... same results.

Could it be something imbedded in the MP3 to prevent copying?
Just a thought.

I don't think so... I have tried about 4 different clips of royality free music that I use all the time and the results are the same, a jerky playback. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed in my system (but something obviously has)

Just when you think you have your system working like a charm BLAM!!!!! All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to rely on a computer to make a living or I would be out on the street begging for food.

Appreciate your thoughts,

OK, here's what I found out any case anyone else searches on the subject. The problem only occurs when I use a "theme" video background with any audio background. If I use my own video background, no problem.

Also, it only seems to appear when some clips are inserted. Can't tell what the attributes of the clips have that seem to cause this problem. Now I know this isn't inclusive, but I was able to get around my problem rendering the theme to an mpg and then loop the render as a background. It ain't pretty but it worked.
