dvda file to big

Hi there, I was wondering what is the best way to get a file to fit on a DVD thru DVDA? I did not think my file was bigger than the 4.7 but DVDA said it was. I chose to re-compress the file because I could not get the the birate to change to a smaller setting in order to make the file small enough. The original data was rendered in vegas as a MPEG2, no audio and the audio in AC3. Am I doing something wrong here. I seem to have lost quality in my project when I watch the final DVD on my TV.?? Could someone please give a suggestion if possible?? Thanks in advance.

If your files were small enough to fit on a DVD before you brought them into DVDA, then ignore its warnings. DVDA is very bad at estimating the final project size.

So that's all it is? I was just about to ask about this topic myself. I haven't used DVDA2 very much yet, but I noticed that files that use to fit a DVD using DVDA don't in DVDA2. And after burning a DVD using DVDA2 that was said to be 100% full, it certainly didn't burn it all the way to the edges like DVDA used to. Thanks for clearing that up.

Hello,

I beleive that the real file size for a DVD would be 4.37GB and not actually 4.7GB. If your file's are more than 4.37GB, then they are too big. You could download DVDShrink and run your VideoTS folder through that to make them exactly 4.37GB.
