DVDA Mpeg2 setting needs recompression?

Maybe this is a Vegas problem, but I just rendered out several menu/video mpegs for a project, and four of them needed to be recompressed. I triple-checked/rendered them, and still they needed recompression. I used the DVDA-compliant preset in Vegas, and rendered about 12 files, but only four needed recompression. Nothing I do seems to change it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Are any of those four being used on menus? Menus are always recompressed because DVDA has to combine the original background with whatever text and graphics you add into a new video.

Actually I have 6 menus. Four of them are the four files in question. 2 are not. I just build the links into the BG media file, so there is no text being used in DVDA. Strange.

There must be something added to those four menus... ?

Anyhow, I can't imagine menus would take too long to render, anyhow. Or is a drop in quality that concerns you?
