DVDa problem or operator error? (highlight issue)

blink3times wrote on 11/12/2008, 3:48 AM
I have my highlighting set for color set 1 and 2 (default colors) and the "overlay mask" has been chosen for the style. The highlight is there clear as day in the preview simulation and works fine. However when I burn the disk the highlighting is nowhere to be seen. I can blindly switch to different chapters so it does work... it's just not visible on the finished product.

Any ideas?

Try this all too recent thread, might get a clue although your problem sounds really strange.

Which version of DVDA and is this a BD or SD DVD?

I'm going to BD on version 5a

Now I know there is one stipulation with BD and that is that you must have the unselected scene set for transparent (none) which I have done already.

I should point out that I am doing this a bit different. The screen starts off blank with music in the back ground. At the first drum beat a blue still back ground pops in (I have done this by using the key frames in "crop and adjust" to zero out the alpha until the drumbeat). At the second drum beat the second scene pops in, and at the third drum beat the first of my 2 scenes pops in (this one defaults with the highlight). The scenes popping in is done the same way... by zero-ing the alpha until the right time.

On the final product I get the scenes and backgound popping in at the right time so that all works but the highlight is non existent. It DOES however show up in the preview simulation. I can't figure this one out?!?

Well I'll be dammed.
It's right in the manual:

"Animated button highlights are not supported. If a button has keyframe animation applied, button highlighting is not animated or may not be visible when you burn your project to disc. You will see the button highlighting when you preview your DVD Architect Pro project but not after it is burned to disc."

Who thought that one up???

I'll let you have a drink with my sister, but I won't let you take her to bed.

Don't you love it when it shows in the preview, but then you just can't have it?

What a tease!
