DVDA Rendering

I am working on several projects that are over 1.5 hours each. When using DVDA, it takes me about 1.5 hours to render(audio to AC3)/prepare/burn.

When I make a change to the video in V4, I normally render the elements to MPEG2 first and assemble them in DVDA. What drives me crazy is that when I don't change the audio at all yet DVDA, I still must re-render the audio, I guess so that it matches up with the video. Is that the way it works? Any shortcuts anyone knows on shortening the render/prepare cycle in DVDA.

Thanks,

TomG

If you render audio to AC3 in Vegas 4.x, and then import that into DVDA, the audio should not be re-rendered.

In DVDA, click on the object that contains the video you are using, and then click on the object properties to find out what audio is associated with the video. A common mistake is to render the MPEG2 file that includes audio. When you bring this into DVDA, it will use the audio embedded in the MPEG2 file, not the AC3 file you rendered spearately. To avoid this, make sure to use the NTSC or PAL MPEG2 template that is specifically designed for DVD Architect. These templates do not render any audio to the MPEG2 file.

Thanks to y'all for the great advice!!! And I was using the NTSC template and NOT the NTSC DVDA template therefore rendering the audio as well. Live and learn!!! As usual, the sharing of info in this forum is super!!!
