DVDA tries to re-render mpeg files

Hi,

Im trying to make a dvd and I have 10 videos on a PAL project in DVDA. All were rendered in Vegas 6.0 using the same DVDA PAL template.

For example this is ok:

General
Name: Islaja Rohkaisulaulu video.mpg
Folder: H:\TV musavideot DVD
Type: MainConcept MPEG-2
Size: 204,58 MB (209 485 824 bytes)
Created: 15. maaliskuuta 2006, 19:21:19
Modified: 15. maaliskuuta 2006, 19:32:30
Accessed: 9. toukokuuta 2006, 0:00:00
Attributes: Archive

Streams
Video: 00:04:38,120, 25.000 fps interlaced, 720x576x32, MPEG-2
Audio: 00:04:38,136, 48 000 Hz; Stereo, MPEG Layer 2

But this is not, DVD says it will have to recompress this:

Type: MainConcept MPEG-2
Size: 135,16 MB (138 399 744 bytes)
Created: 16. maaliskuuta 2006, 10:46:05
Modified: 16. maaliskuuta 2006, 11:37:42
Accessed: 9. toukokuuta 2006, 0:00:00
Attributes: Archive

Streams
Video: 00:03:09,880, 25.000 fps interlaced, 720x576x32, MPEG-2
Audio: 00:03:09,888, 48 000 Hz; Stereo, MPEG Layer 2

Can anyone point me to a direction what could be wrong here?

Im also a bit at loss cause I remember using these same mpeg2 files on previous sessions in DVDA and it did not have re-render the video. I could be wrong though since this is a really weird situation.

Thanks for the help!

Sami

Use the DVDA Pal Template in Vegas and render the audio seperately. This should take care of the re-rendering issue. Also, do not "Optimize" in DVDA or else it will re-render.

WOW! I was away for 4 hours. Came back and opened the DVDA project and pressed prepare and now it says it doesnt have to re-compress ANY videos!!!!

These are exactly the same mpeg2 files and exactly the same DVDA project I was just working with few hours ago!

THIS IS WEIRD!
