Make sure you are running the most current version if 1.0 (1.0d I think); if that doesn't help, get a decent burning program like Nero.

Try putting a CD or something in the burner and see if it's recognised by your computer.

My Vegas Movie studio is a 4.0 and just purchased at Compuse - Think this is the most recent version. I don't think Nero is anywhere as versatile as Vegas. Why Nero?

I put a cd in the burner and it blasted out beautifully. That's not the problem. Haven't heard from Sony Movie Maker yet.

Why Nero? Because DVDA isn't a burning program (just my opinion), it's an authoring program. Use DVDA to author your project and then use Nero to burn it.

sIR - iI autthored my program on DVDa - tried burning on Nero - did a simulation and only got the videa. I authored video and audia separately to get the best sound but the scree states that there is 'audio-none' How do I add the authored audio and have them burn both at once?

Sounds like you selected the wrong option in Nero. You want to select the option that says "Burn DVD Video Files" - when you select that you should get a file-explorer type window with 2 folders: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS with the video folder being red in color.

You then drag all of the files located in the VIDEO_TS folder that you had DVDA prepare too, over to the Nero folder. Then click burn.

opened Nero start smart....went to configure...chose burn DVD files...opened Nero burning ROM chose correct burner ...Would NOT accept a DVD disc - wanted a CD disc - Started to burn a regular cd - would not finish BUT I want to make a DVD not cd/dvd. Also chose DVD on compilation. This is maddening.! Burniing a DVD should NOT take a rocket scientist.
