DVDA2 and Menu Transitions

Just getting things going with DVDA2 and menu transitions.

I am building a simple DVD with a Main Menu with two buttons for play the movie and go to a second menu to pick a scene.

I have added the media to play the whole movie at the highest level in the project window i.e below the project title

I have then added the media several times again and used in/out point to allow the pick a scene menu play a single chapter a time.

After creating the menus as I want them I set the preview to best and did a copy to clipboard for the main menu and the pick a scene menu with a couple of different buttons highlighted.

I then saved these to a file within Vegas with the preview window set to best

I have used these stills to do s simple transition from Main Meni -> Pick a Scene, Pick a Scene to Main Menu

I render these to .mpg and import them into DVDA at the highest level again within the project window.

I change the end actions of the media files etc so that selecting the Pick a Scene menu from the Main Menu plays the transition media with in/out points and its end action then points to the Pick a Scene menu

Everything looks good in the DVDA preview but when I play the VIDEO_TS folder in WinDVD or burn a disk and play this in a number of players the transition between menus have black outs i.e as the media changes from the transition to the destination menu there black screen for a short time.

Is this to be expectged as the DVD player has to open and switch between files?

Is this the best workflow for creating menu transitions?

TIA, Paul

PS I am workin in PAL Widescreen

Sorry for the bump guys, with alll the noise about end actions I thought everyone would be trying this sort of stuff.

Anyone?

It will vary from player to player (some handle the switch faster than others), but generally yes, you should expect that.

Probably.
