DVDA2: Left/Right navigation to another menu from a thumbnail?

I'm probably just being a tired record here, but I'm going to ask about a capability that I believe DVDA2 doesn't have: I've previously asked in the form of "auto-execute" on end actions but just wanted to double-check that I haven't forgotten something.

I am navigating and have a clip thumbnail selected on a menu. I want to navigate to another menu. I believe I have to navigate to another button, hit enter to trigger that button, and then that button will take me to another menu. This is an additional step I don't want to do. I would prefer to eliminate the navigation buttons altogether. So from the selected thumbnail, clicking the right button will take me to the next menu, hitting the left button will take me to the previous menu, clicking the up button will take me to the main menu, etc, etc. Of course I will program where each click takes me, but I need to assign other menus (or thumbnails or buttons on those different menus) as the target for each direction from the current thumbnail. Currently I believe I can only assign items on the same menu as the targets. Correct or have I missed something? TIA.

I know other authoring programs handle this by creating hidden buttons on the current menu, navigating to these buttons, then having these buttons "auto-execute". And DVDA2 doesn't support this, excepting the JohnMeyer custom hack via VobEdit.
