No I have not, I think that my DVD Burner does not support "-"
I got the Philips DVD 228K Burner. ;-((
VMP wrote on 7/7/2004, 1:35 PM
But I thought that "+ R / RW"was the better standard for Philips and sony??
Homer_Jay wrote on 7/7/2004, 2:10 PM
I tried it now on "+" and "-" and it does not make a difference.

Thanks (Homer_Jay).
But the result is indeed no good news.

@v_gts: Are you still having the "freeze" problem after the firmwareupdate?
VMP wrote on 7/8/2004, 4:47 AM
@ (Homer_Jay): Yes sometimes

Would the "Subtitle problem" be solved if the DVD's are printed instead of burned??
like the comercial DVD 's?

I can't test this with 1 DVD, because the pressing company dosen't print less than 500 copies.
And it costs alot of money!.

The firmware update for the 751 is different and doesn't mention fixing the freeze problem.

So is the solution to the subtitle problem "pressing" the DVD 's instead of bruning?

Since no one seems to know what's causing the problem, I don't see how any of us could answer that question.

I hope that sony will test DVDA2 + Subtitle projects on some Philips DVD-set top players.

We are looking into this.

The Philips 751 has proven difficult to obtain (especially because it's only available in Europe and we're in North America). Even so, we are still investigating for potential problems based on your description. BTW, if anyone can reproduce this problem with a different Philips player, please post the model number (excluding the 612 and variants because Philips has a patch for a similiar, if not the same, issue).

vts_g, I assume the project you are creating is in PAL format. If not, switch to PAL (720x576) in project properties (File | Properties...), prepare and burn. It's possible this player has trouble with NTSC discs.

Hello Sony,
As you said I have tried burning your "test project" as
"PAL 720X576". Obviously The "DVD Architect Project for Test Burning" from your site is prepared in "NTSC" Format. So I have prepared the same sample project from the Vegas+DVD CD. as "PAL 720X576". and burned it.
Sadly the result is same. I hope that you will get a Philips player from the same series, and hopefully find a solution to the problems.
I love all your products, especially Vegas Video®, it stands above all non-linear video editing products existing now.
Thanks,
Vighnesh.
