DVDA5 error: Video buffer underflows

A number of people have gotten this error trying to burn a BD project (it happened to me in the "create image" phase:

File name: STREAM/0000x.m2ts
Status: TSWrapper.dll::CTSWrapper::ProcThreadMain::Video buffer underflows.

This has been posted in the DVDA forum, but is not getting any traction, so I thought I would cross-post here.

BTW, I am rendering BD template 1440x1080 60i 25mbps in Vegas 8.0b, on Vista Home Premium (32x), intel platform, 3GB ram

What is the media size, it should be at least 25GB
With lower sizes you get this error.

The media is 4.7 DVD. The total size of the pre-rendered assets is around 2.5 to 3 GB. The length of the video is around 12 min.

If DVDA will in fact burn BD to DVD, none of this should be a problem.

Try setting your media to 25GB when preparing, later change it to 4.7 for burn.

Nolemo or Udi, could you please let me know your exact workflow for this.
I am trying to burn a Blu ray compliant file using DVDA on a regular DVD. I just bought a brand new LG GGW-H20L Blu ray Writer.
I prepare my project 1440x1080 60i using the BD 25 project settings.
Then I change the project setting to DVD 4.7. (ISO size < 600MB)
Insert a DVD-R into my LG burner, select burn from previous perpared project (an ISO ) and then DVDA starts to burn, I see the light on the burner come on for approx 30 seconds, then go off, and DVDA will sit there for eternity......
Anything I am doing wrong here??

Ted, I used Nero to burn the ISO to the DVD. Nero burned it successfully, but since I don't have a Blu-Ray player, I don't know if it actually worked. My DVD drive won't read the disc, but that does not suprise me since it's a different format. Anyway, I would try burning the ISO with a third party app and see if that will work for you, if you don't already have one on your system there are a number of freeware apps that will do the job, for example http://www.ntfs.com/iso_burner_free.htm

I actually also tried to burn the ISO image using Nero Image burner. An older version., but it would not do it either. For Blu-ray does it require a 'special' ISO burning program?

I don't know, I used Nero 6 and it completed successfully (according to Nero). Like I said, I don't know if I have a playable disk. Have to stop by Best Buy sometime, I guess....

If it works, this is not really an issue for me because my DVDA workflow in SD was to use Nero to burn the VIDEO_TS folder, anyway.

Well, I have here Nero 7.9, what is able to write both Blu Ray but als HD DVD. What I can do, is to import the iso as geneated by the DVDA5 - and the disc is recognized as HD DVD. Ok, you can switch to Blu Ray but also to DVD - and for somehing larger then 4.3 GB the DVD9 (DL-DVD) is suggested by Nero.

Also, you can extract the files from the ISO, generate with Nero 7.9 a Blu Ray project. Import the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folder - switch again to DVD and burn it.

Have not tried by now long tests - but I think it should work out for both DVD and DVD9.

For BD-R it is no problem to use the DVDA5 for burning directly.
