DVDAS 3.0 - navigation error

BigEgg wrote on 3/14/2007, 3:09 AM
I've just created my first dvd after upgrading from DVDAS 2 to 3. The DVD has a simple one-page Menu with six buttons. Everything went fine but when I watch the dvd on TV I cannot go back from movie to Menu page. It says something like "navigation error, etc..." (don't remember the entire message). So, I burned the VIDEO_TS folder with another software (CloneDVD2) using another DVD brand, but with the same result.

I made the same project with DVDAS 2 and it worked find. So the problem is version 3......

I installed the trial version of DVDAS 4 but with no luck but I just found out that Sony released the update 4.0b Build 166 in February for DVD Architect (but NOT for Studio version) with the following specification

"An issue has been fixed that could cause playback of burned DVDs to fail on some DVD players due to a navigation error". This is exactly what's happening to me.

So, I personally think it's time to release the same patch for DVD Architect Studio 3 and 4.

I don't know if this is the same issue, but try downloading a copy of PGCedit, have it open your project and let it fix the error it finds, then try reburning (after removing the PGCedit backup directory in the VIDEO_TS folder.

Thank you for replying. I believe that this is not a bug or a problem be is related to the functionality of DVD Players and DVD Architect. To configure how remote buttons work the would want to look into Remote Buttons properties from your main menu page. Here is some information that may be helpful.

You can use the Menu Page Properties pane in the Properties window to adjust the length, background media, end actions, and remote control button behavior for the selected page.
To edit a menu's properties, perform the following actions:
1. If the window isn't already visible, choose Properties from the View menu.
2. Double-click a menu in the Project Overview window (or navigate in the workspace) to open the menu you want to edit.
3. Click a button at the top of the Properties window.
