Did you burn using DVDA? You could try just creating a DVD folder and burning with say ImgBurn.

What brand of disc? Verbatim and JVC/Taiyo Yuden are often recommended.

Use a re-writeable disc while experimenting to save burning too many duds.

Will the customer's DVD player play any recordable DVD (as distinct from commercial pressed DVD)?

Use only Verbatim or T-Y dvd blanks, and burn at a slightly lower speed if necessary.
If your customer owns a Curtis-Mathis player, encourage them to buy another brand.

Some DVD's will not play on older players for some reason..If it's a more recent player it should play all right.
