In an attempt to fix the problem I posted about earlier (some video I have
has every 15th frame dropped), I downloaded a trial copy of DynaPel
MotionPerfect. At least one person has said that he's used the software for
basically the same problem I'm having.
However, when I run the software on my video, it does nothing. If I go into
Expert Mode, I can see that it's detecting duplicate frames properly, but
when I hit "start" to process them, it doesn't actually fix them. The output
video looks identical to my input video.
The help file talks about methods for manually mending frames and frame
ranges, but none of those methods do anything either.
How do I make DynaPel MotionPerfect _do_ something? I only need it to mend
frames, not change duration or framerate.
The only pseudo-solution I can think of is to make sure that all of my
dupe-frames are even-numbered frames, go into MotionPerfect, cut the
framerate in half, an then double the framerate of the resulting file, and
then copy/paste the specific frames I need back onto the Vegas timeline, but
that's a lot of work, and not really the best of solutions (especially if
MotrionPerfect's algorithm is smart enough to use multiple neighbor frames to
calculate the missing frames. If it does, having all of the frames would be
necessary to get best result, since going from 14.985 back to 29.970 frames
per second does not produce good results for the created frames). This is also incredibly computationally intensive, and very work intensive on my part (pasting individual frames in for every half second of footage)
