@geebax - did you ever use the bve3000 - glorified bve800 with extra deck control?

No, never got to use one of those. Did try lots of other ones though, including the Mach 3. I demonstrated that for Bosch Australia at SMPTE in Sydney in 19??

And later on I built a small 3 machine editor into a small remote control panel using Sony panel components. It used a fast Z180 processor and could roll up and sync 3 machines correctly, all in a panel that was 4" wide by 8" long. It mostly ended up being used to lay back audio mixes after audio posting.

I still have it somewhere......

I envy all of you. I started off with 2 Hi8 cameras, connected via S-VHS to a WJ-AV3 with a separate title generator and as a recorder I used a JVC S-VHS deck that had a jog shuttle on it. My first video was my brothers wedding and it took me a long time to get all together. That was in 1993 back in Vienna and I believe my father still has that mixer in his storage. I gave up on video editing until I could effort my first D8 camera and Canopus Raptor card with MediaStudio Pro 5. Computer power wasn't so important as all video was handled by the Canopus card and it played very well with MSP5.

Proud owner of Sony Vegas Pro 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 and now Magix VP15&16.
