EASY Q - Rendering DV and Publishing

Appreciate your help very much.

I am now rendering a DV production using Movie Studio Platinum.

1) What is best format to save it in? .MPG2 ? .WMV?
2) Where is best place to upload it? Sony's automatic upload place I see there, or somewhere like YouTube? I want to allow family and friends (some who may not be so PC-savy) to view it easily.

Thanks again! Appreciate your time.

Best format? Depends on what you intend to do with it. If you want to make a DVD, save the video stream to mpg2 and the audio to AC3 if movie studio platinum has that option. I don't know what movie studio can or can't do- you might want to direct that to its forum.

If all you are going to do is upload it to the net, save as wmv and adjust the bitrate accordingly. I think youtube and google video (99% sure) recompresses your footage, so go a head and bump up the bitrate. I don't know if they have a size limit, check their upload policy.

As for Sony having an automatic upload place, I wasn't aware of that.

I did not know there was a movie studio forum - just saw Vegas and went for it. Thanks for the tips - very helpful. Regards!
