Economy of Motion

Why can't I select the audio input on multiple tracks at once? Or can I, and I'm missing something?

For example, let's say I am preparing for background vocal dubs and I know for sure I'll be using 6 tracks. So I create 6 new tracks. Then, in order to prepare them all for recording I should be able to select all 6 tracks, and then complete the following process for just one track and have it take effect on all 6 tracks:
Arm for record, click on the Record Device selector and select my input.

Instead I have to do this:
Select all 6 tracks, arm one track for record (and they all are armed) then I need to select track 1, click on the Record Device selector, disable Input Monitor, click on the Record Device selector again, click on MONO and then select my input. Then
Select track 2, click on the Record Device selector, disable Input Monitor, click on the Record Device selector again, click on MONO and then select my input. Then
Select track 3, click on the Record Device selector, disable Input Monitor, click on the Record Device selector again, click on MONO and then select my input. Then
Select track 4 click on the Record Device selector, disable Input Monitor, click on the Record Device selector again, click on MONO and then select my input. Then
Select track 5, click on the Record Device selector, disable Input Monitor, click on the Record Device selector again, click on MONO and then select my input. Then
Select track 6, click on the Record Device selector, disable Input Monitor, click on the Record Device selector again, click on MONO and then select my input. Then

Can we simplify this at all? It would sure be helpful to be able to select my default input device so whenever I arm a track it defaults to my input of choice. And also to set my Input Monitor default either "on" or "off".

You can do this for record input and input monitor as well as track effects
(and a few other things like default track height). Just set one track the way
you want it to default and then right click the track and choose set default
track properties.

You can also set your default input device on the Prefs page.
