I just reported this bug to Sony. It worked correctly in Vegas 4.0d.
First, copy a video event.
Next, open the "Edit Detail" view. In the "Select" column, click on one or more events to select them.
Finally, go to the Edit menu and try to Paste Event Attributes. You can't because it is greyed out. However, if you click on the same events with the mouse, then they are "really" selected and you can then paste event attributes.
I just checked and this worked correctly in Vegas 4.0d. This is a new bug in Vegas 5.0b. I don't know whether it was introduced in the original 5.0, 5.0a, or 5.0b.
