Example / scenario:
1 - My source footage is 1920x1080 AVCHD MOV files
2 - I transfer the footage to uncompressed AVI files as follows:
a) one batch of 1920x1080 uncompressed AVI files
b) one batch of 960x540 uncompressed AVI file
(I transfer to uncompressed AVI as the original AVCHD is basically unsable to work with. I do archive that on an external drive though).
3 - The uncompressed 960x540 versions U-AVI files play real well on my system. Also during dissolve it maintains full frame rate. So no need for Cineform here. The U-AVI runs at full frame rate and don't give chroma problems etc.
PROBLEM / SCENARIO
1.
Let's say I edit my project using the 960x540 uncompressed AVI files, (I'll call these U-AVI files from now on). They flow nicely and the Raid-0 setup seems to deliver what is needed( = being able to play back at full frame rate during a dissolve = 2 video streams of U-AVI).
2.
I add text in the simple text tool (for instance). As I'm in 960x540 mode the text plugin defaults to 960x540 too.
3.
I now want to render this project to 1920x1080. So I throw in the 1920x1080 versions in the folder where the 960x540 files resided and change project setup fomat.
Now I want to render and face the following:
I set the project to 1920x1080
Now the text plugin is still at 960x540. Which makes the text quality bad when rendering to 1920x1080.
QUESTION1
1 - Can I have the size in the text plugin follow the project size? Alternatively, how can I change the size of 100 text events plugins? And when I want to change back to 960x540 for editing what do I do then?
2 - Is there anything else that I need to change when working with the 960x540 and replacing to 1920x1080 except for the text plugin?
This workflow requires no special codec on my system,. Just U-AVI which gives me optimum quality and also no depending on third party updates / problems = peace of mind.
Best & thanks in advance
