Edit to the music.

Hi all, I want to edit video clips to the music track but when I hit S it puts an edit through the music track as well. Can't seem to find anyway to leave the music alone and just drag the video along the timeline and edit it to the beat? Thx.

You probably need to ungroup the tracks. Select the video track, hit the "U" key, this should ungroup the tracks and allow them to operate independently

If you don't have any track or event (clip) selected, "S" will split all tracks (events) at the cursor.

If you select a track or event first, then press "S", it will only split the selected track / event.

Like Scott mentions, grouped events will be split because when you select the video, for example, you are also selecting the audio. (I don't know what happens if the Ignore Event Grouping button is activated...)

Sorry, I don't recall the exact details, but that should help get you going.
