Rats. Can't believe I'm flirting with VV upgrade already. Hmmmmm. Will the increased sophistication challenge my poor inspiron 8200 to the point of opening old Dell wounds???? Merry holidays to you all. Grob

Grob - I'm working on the grandfather of your machine - the 8000 Inspiron - no problems here so far with Vegas. Go on Spoil yourself! Upgrade for $199.99 - You know it makes sense . . . .

I'm having a massive Christams with my folks - It's 10:00pm, just finished ANOTHER mince pie and washed it down with a rather "flirty" French Muscadet - MMMmmmhhh . . .

Try this;
Put the video you want to go backwards on the timeline, put the cursor
on the end of the track, start your tape deck on record then hit the "J"
key on the keyboard. I think Video Factory will play the timeline backwards
by pushing the "J" key but I'm not sure. Replay the tape and your video will
be backwards then recapture to Video Factory. I left a lot of stuff out but
thats essentially what you have to do if you don't have VV-3.

James J. Kizak---Merry Christmas---buy yourself VV-3 upgrade.

"J" works in VV but not, alas, in VF.

Just a thought, and i'm not being cynical at all, but probably one of the reasons that Vegas has video reversal and VideoFactory doesn't is because Vegas costs more. OK, seems obvious enough, right? But the point is, if additional Vegas features get added to VideoFactory then the incentive to upgrade erodes away, and Sonic Foundry gets less money from upgrades. VideoFactory is a very inexpensive introductory package; it's inexpensive because it doesn't have some of the advanced features and it lacks some advanced features to keep it inexpensive. For the price you pay, it's already a pretty awesome piece of software!

There is a shareware program that is free for personal use called VideoMach that will save your video backwards. Just search for it on google. It does a lot of things with different filters much like VirtualDub but also has effects like Oil Painting. When you define your output, on the video tab is a checkbox in the Frame Order group that’s labeled, Save . This will do what you want.

You know, you're exactly correct. And, insofar as today is my b-day, and insofar as I'm completely happy with VF and this forem et al . . . I've just placed my order for the upgrade to VV. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Better start reading that other forem a little closer. See you there. Grob

I'm going to print all this out and show it to my wife. She continues to flash the jauntised eye on me and my obsessions. The secret, of course, was to play the b-day card. Ha. Grob
