Editing Canon G7 clips question

Hello fellow Vegas 7 editiors. Once in awhile I have only my Canon G7 with me and I want to make a few movie clips. However, I cannot get the files to show up in Vegas 7. However it used to work!
Anyone know what may have happened? How do I get the codec I need? (The clips edit just fine in Movie Maker) thanks so much

Put all the clips on timeline in movie maker, render to AVI.
Use this newly rendered AVI files with Vegas, that should open.

Do a search here for "MJPEG".
