Hello,
I have a few recordings from a DVB HD recorder that I want to edit in Movie Studio 11 Platinum.
Goal is to take only a few scenes from each recording and output a single "master" for different devices incl. iPad, Blu-Ray and DVD.
I can access the recordings via VLC UPnP client and save the streams either raw or converted to a choice of formats.
My question is how should I save the streams in VLC for editing in Movie Studio?
I experienced with a small test recording that I saved in VLC once as raw (TS) and once converted to H264 video/MPEG1 audio in an MP4 container.
Please find below mediainfo output for both files.
The MP4 imports fine in Movie Studio but both trimmer and video preview don't play real time.
The TS can be placed in the project media but does not open in the trimmer.
First off, will the raw TS yield better quality than converting in VLC before editing?
Shall I try to repair transmission errors on the TS file with VideoReDo (Quick Stream Fix) or TS-Doctor and import that new TS?
