Editing help

I'm a rookie at this and would welcome some help. I have a dvd of a lax game that I have imported into VMS. I would like to learn how to create a few smal clips of some of the game. Save them and use them in a powerpoint presentation. is that possible and if so how does one edit the clips easily?

Drag the imported clips individually onto the Vegas timeline (i.e. not all together, or you'll end up with a larger file than you anticipated) and then choose File, Make movie. Choose Save it to your hard drive. Choose a template that is suitable for your playback device. Render the final movie as a Windows Media Video file (.WMV). 3Mb/s is fine for playing off a DVD or hard drive. Then I'm sure you can then use the resulting clip directly in Powerpoint.
