editing in screenblast sound forge..

i've used vf2 and now screeblast movie studio also for audio editing and like them both, and of course they dont harm the original files.

i downloaded the trial version of screenblast sound forge. it seems that the original file gets altered during the save process. i dont like this, since i'm used to project files in movie studio and not having to worry about hurting my original files.

is that how screenblast sound forge works, or do i have it wrong?

thanks in advance.

I haven't used Sound Forge, but all the other audio software I've used works this way, too. There's an option to edit a copy of the audio, which leaves the original untouched.

That is how most audio editors work. It's pretty easy to make a copy of the file first. It's also very easy to use Save As: when saving and specify a new name.

thanks for the info guys.
stupidly one time when i was using nero wave editor i hit save and wrote over my original file. thats why i was questioning if screenblast sound forge worked the same.

heck, screenblast moviestudio is good for audio editing, but of course screenblast sound forge has a lot of nice audio tools. i'll probably get it.

thanks again.
