I would like to purchase Insta360 X3 video camera. It has 360 degrees video footage.
I have never editing 360 degrees content in any versions of Vegas Pro.
Will I have problems with editing video footage from Insta360 X3 video camera in Vegas Pro 20?
Can you share with your experience of editing 360 degrees content in Vegas Pro 20?

insv media is not natively supported in VEGAS Pro, so you need to export them first via included Insta360 Studio app.
You now have two choices, whether you are reframing in Insta360 Studio app or export whole footage as 360 'complete'-source, in h264 or ProRes or h265 format. I recommend go with ProRes.
If you are going with 360 'complete'-source for later reframing in VP20, add Scene Rotation and Tiny Planet VideoFX BEFORE Pan/Crop chain. With both FX, you can do reframing.

Please note that what I discuss here mostly is processing the 360 recording and output to standard video format, not outputting to 360 rotateable video.
One thing is the rotation degree range control in TinyPlanet OFX or Scene Rotation OFX is more limited, compared to Insta360 Studio app. At first when I have Insta360 One-X2, I also thinking the same, 'throw-everything' editing on VP19/VP20, but currently now I prefer to reframe them first in Insta360 Studio App. Feels like one additional step before 'usual' editing, but so far I still feel this is more preferred. I also need to learn on the 'camera movement' several times before I get used to it. It is easy to get overwhelmed on recording (due to 'feel able to record everything' and then getting confused on later reframing process, which 'subject or object I should focus')
This depends on how active the reframing process you want to do on the 360 recording.

The .insv files are 3-connected files that must be placed in the same location folder, and opened with Insta360 Studio App.
Try experiment first.

As you can see the there are roundings (rounded holes) on high and low parts of panorama photo.
Can you advise me how to display this panorama as good as from this link without these holes:
This is a DJI Mavic 3 360 degrees panorama photo and it display perfectly and there are no holes on photo.
I have DNG and insp files of insta360 x3 panoramas.

Never been working with 360 direct output, but I try download the file and put the JPG to my Insta360 studio Windows app, and here's how it looks:
Curious, I also check the DJI Mavic 3 360 degrees photo, and check the resolutions of both:
Flat room: 11968 x 5984 = 2:1
Drone: 14000 x 7000 = 2:1
Something might be misinterpret the flat room image, but I don't know what it is... Wish I can help further....
I solved the issue. I had to turn on the plugin which was turn off.

I have two panorama plugins implemented on my web page.
a) 1st one is for 360 degrees photos but not spherical, which doesn't cover the whole area in up/down direction. I use it seldom. I used to use it in the past.
b) 2nd one is for 360 degrees photos which are spherical. This plugin lets me display the whole 360 degrees spherical area. I use it more often. That's why after my drone shots, in post production, I have to also generate 1/3 of photo (I mean lack of whole sky) which my drone can not handle it. When I add this 30% of sky, then such panorama photo covers the whole area in any direction. It is https://photo-sphere-viewer.js.org/ web page.
On my photo mentioned in the previous post I had wrongly 1st plugin enabled, but I should enable 2nd plugin for it, because Insta360 camera covers the whole area in any direction which is similar to drone panorama photo after of course adding the gap of whole sky.
Do you have the same problem while reframing Insta360 videos in Vegas:
As you can see there is a big dot on high part of video and also on low part of video.
It limites me with pointing "reframing" to the high part of the sky.
Do you know how to eliminate it in postproduction in Vegas 20?
Before editing in Vegas, I exported the video from Insta360 Studio to the flat file (in ProRes codec with original resolution).
Are you able to fix this issue. I would like to edit 360 degrees video in Vegas 20. I would not like to edit the video in Insta360 Studio.
Is it possible to sucessful edit 360 degrees video in any direction without dots/gaps etc in Vegas Pro 20?

Make sure you put the Tiny Planet before Pan/Crop chain:
and in Pan/Crop chain, right click on the F-Box and select 'Match to Output Aspect Ratio.

and I noticed that Tiny Planet cannot be used on Track level, but only on Event level.
For Scene Rotation, I only use the Turn around Y-Axis if combined to use with Tiny Planet.
Scene Rotation put before Tiny Planet OFX, and both are also before Pan/Crop chain.
And yes, event level only. Not Track.
*If put in Track level, it will process whole Track, and the source data aspect ratio of flat360 is 2:1, wider than standard 16:9, so that's why it introduces a black bar on top and bottom. And the whole track's resolution source is current project resolution size. Gonna be 'small resolution' for 360 usage. That's why it's not recommended here.
And it's also similar reason why put before Pan/Crop chain. So it won't be 'scaled down' to project's size.
I am not sure If I have the same problem with my first trial to work on an Insta3X movie I want to create from 360, then rendering to UHD normal file by reframing parts.
My event FX looks like this
My Scenrotation like this:
The result in Vegas Preview looks exact as I wish. A cutout frame moving along the curves I specify in Scene rotation.
But when I render it to a new track or outside in a file, I get a 360 Video.
What setting did I miss?
