editing MOV files

Hi, A friend has an Olympus digital camera, with movie mode. Movie mode records in MOV format. He wanted to know if MS would edit these short clips. I can view his clip with media player, but when I import that clip to MS, it displays as a bunch of colored pixels. Anyone have an idea what could be happening? Is it a resolution issue with the camera?

If the .mov files are Quicktime files, then make sure Quicktime is installed on the machine where you're trying to do the editing.

You'll want to re-install Quicktime and make sure that when you do the install you specify that you want the "authoring components".
