editing still camera movies

I shot some footage with video capability of still camera. Those AVIs with Motion JPEG encoder (according to the manual) yet when i import those files into Vegas and try to drag the files into th etimeline only the audio appear. I know i can work around by encoding those files as QTs with Aniamation codecs yet it takes way too long and it produces humongous files. Any other way around????

I have a question.

I downloaded the program, but for the life of me I don't know how the hell to make it DO anything.

All I get is a complicated list of choices and no instructions on how to convert the files into something useable.

So, how exactly do you take the still camera video files and convert them using this program?

You install the MJPEG codec and then Vegas will open them.
