Editing Video...Sound...Voice Issues

Can someone help me please. I have a question. Something is going on in Sony Vegas and I have no idea what happened. My audio is totally messed up. I spent many sleepless nights editing my film. Everything was saved as the correct file, etc, but in the preview panel....it works. But when I open in trimmer...I can hear the UNEDITED version of my film. And before I knew all of this....I saved it as a mp4....but after viewing it....it was not showing the edited version. What on earth happened? I am on a delayed deadline, and don't know what happened. I opened up another one of my films I edited in Vegas, and it has NONE of these issues. So like, if I have a track edited to "no volume" (like if there is music over it), it is fine in the preview frame thing. When I open it up in trimmer (never had this issue), you can hear all background noise, me saying "cut", and the actors speaking. Any suggestions? And yes, I reinstalled it. I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio 11. HELP!

It depends on how you rendered it.

Do you still have the original video files? How's the audio on that?

If you don't already, when saving your project, so a Save As and add a sequence number so you have multiple versions of the project. This allows you to go back to a previous version should something go wrong.

What are you opening in the trimmer? Is it the new, rendered output file? What does that sound like it you open it in something like VLC or Media Player?
