The problem could be you added a keyframe to the clip by accident.

First thing that comes to mind: It could be that you have accidently or purposedly (spelling?) added one or more keyframes in the effects little timeline.

Or maybe the video event is split? Zoom in and look.

You could have split the clip on accident before you applied the effect by having the clip selected and by hitting the s key. You have total control of your effect in the Video Event FX window. You can program it when to start, stop, or change the glow percent, Intensity etc… So check your key-frames. If your still having problems delete the clip and try again. Hope this helps.

I think most likely it's the keyframe , if you had the cursor in the somewhere in the middle of the clip,when you went to add the effect.
the little box in left corner of the effects window with a padlock was probably on this sync's the keyframes with the cursor. Then when you made your changes in the effect window that where the key frame came in........

Well it was a stupid thing:) I had the monitor split mode on which caused this problem. So now I know in the future and hope this helps others who have this problem.
