emailing videos

I want to email short videos to relatives. I can send them as quick time clips just fine, but when the recipient tries to open the file they can't. A message pops up saying there is a potential security or virus threat. I know they do not contain a virus as they are checked on the way out and my virus protection is up to date. Is there any way to fix this and be able to open the files?

What email program are they using?

It will vary from program to program, but if they are using Outlook Express, there is a setting under TOOLS/OPTIONS and then the SECURITY tab. Uncheck the option DO NOT ALLOW ATTACHMENTS TO BE OPENED......

Hope this helps.

Alternatively, if you've got access to a web site, post the clips there and just e-mail the hyperlinks. If nothing else it saves bandwidth.

That is the way I'm doing it when sharing movies with family overseas.
The viewers will appreciate it too as you will be able to post a larger file on the web that will give you better quality.

When you say access to a web site, do you mean my own? If so, I don't have one, so any other suggestions?
Thanks, It sounds like a good idea, but I really do not know how to do this.

Try www.yousendit.com
You upload your file and send a link to who you want to view it. up to
1 GB It only stays active for 1 week then it's gone. It's great because you can send large files and it's easy. The recipient needs to download the file to their computer before they can view. Try and send yourself something small.
Hope this works for you.
