I have Vegas 21 and have now a 49 inch monitor, the current layout is not satisfactory, as I am unable to detach the preview window and place it somewhere else.
Is there any way to properly set up Vegas for a 49 inch screen like using dual monitors?

Grab the 'Video Preview" windows tab with the mouse cursor and drag it away from its current position. You can then place and size the preview window as desired.
When you say that 'wide monitor', are you referring to a CinemaScope ratio monitor such as 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 rather than a 16:9 sized monitor?

My monitor is 49 inch and corresponds to two FHD screens, i.e. 3840x1080, which is perfect for video editing.
