Encountering extreme lag in Vegas 12

Hello everybody, I have used my copy of Sony Vegas 12 for over a year, and even though my system specs (which I have added through the Forum Settings) are terrible, it has run smoothly enough for me to use and comfortably edit whatever I had needed to. However, a few weeks back I tried to install the free trial for Boris Continuum Complete along with a Disable resample script. From then since I have experienced lag so horrible that I cannot even move the playhead without the program freezing up and not responding. I have ran cleanup/defrag on my hard drive and reinstalled Vegas (one weird note: after reinstalling the script is still there), but these steps have not seemed to accomplish anything. Could someone please shed light on why this is happening, and how I can fix it? Thank you in advance.

Re-installation of programs does not remove any file you added later, and even an un-install will not remove it either. To get things back to where you where, first un-install Boris, then un-install Vegas and you will then have to remove the Vegas folder manually.

Then re-install Vegas, and you may be OK again.

Someone else may know what exactly causes the slow down and have a better answer.

@scoliono: If you still have troubles and only need a Disable Resample possibility then get amendegw*s script here: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=896357

or see JohnnyRoy*s following post.

BCC had not appeared in my Programs list, so I made a dumb decision and deleted Program Files/Boris manually. I had searched around Vegas's files too and hadn't found anything that was obviously a file for Boris. At least the effects went away from Vegas's list. I'll try deleting the entire Vegas folder as you said and hope that works. There was another guide I found about doing a totally clean uninstall of Vegas, so I might try that too.

Hold down CTRL+SHIFT and launch Vegas. This will reset it to it's default settings.
