Enhance LFE?

At a visit to Santa Pod Raceway last year, one of the highlights (even for a non petrol head like me!) was a rocket propelled car. Crazy crazy thing to see! I shot this just using my Panny Lumix wih onboard mic. On the day you could really 'feel' the thing with the whole stand shaking. I'm trying to create a 5.1 track using V19 (I also have V12) with a bit of rumble in it that I can feel when playing on my Home Cinema system. Results so far have been disappointing. So far I've created the LFE track using the data on the original stereo and increased the volume. Are there any other ways to improve that? Any tips from you audio magicians would be greatly appreciated!

I've found that LFE like 'pirate' cannons for example can be overpowering on my 5.1 playback equipment. I have a very old Panasonic home-theater-in-a-box and must be careful how I use the LFE channel or it overpowers everything else. My receiver/setup is low-rent, so I suspect the quality of the playback equipment is key to special effects.

You can 'enhance' the LFE track with EQ or if much does not exist on the track a low frequency 'exiter' tool like Wave's Renaissance Bass, there are others for free and otherwise. I would be wary though of adjusting the LF content in a non-calibrated monitoring system/environment.

"over powering" is what I'm looking for, for a few seconds anyways :-) I have a fairly high end home cinema system which includes 2 subs. I know I'll never recreate the feels from the day, but just a little 'awe' will do ha ha :-) Thanks for the advice 👍

There are lots of free sound effects websites in the internet so you might want to trawl through some of them looking for LFE / low bass effects. A quick search found this one https://freesound.org/people/darkhightech/downloaded_sounds/ of a rocket.

I don't know what it will sound like on an LFE track as I am only using my laptop at the moment.

I've been using that very site for years...why on earth didn't I think of ADDING a new sound to help enhance?? I'll just put it down as an age thing LOL.

I boost the volume level on my LFE track whenever I want to get attention, but if it's not low-frequency, it gets filtered out. You can also adjust the LFE frequency floor somewhat within Vegas. With the correct, LF source material, it is impressive.
