I just completed a two camera shoot of a theatre production and I really want to do a fairly large number of cuts (about 100 or so...it's a two hour show). I have done two camera shoots before but I am looking for ways to have an efficient work flow.
BTW I have Vegas Studio 6.
Here's the plan so far:
Video track for Camera 1(the main camera)
Video track for Camera 2 (The source of the cuts)
Audio track from Camera 1
Audio Track from sound board (to be blended with the sound from camera)
One method would be to mark and split the movie where I want the cuts to be and then drag the clip to the track above Camera 1. I then have to apply fades to the cut.
This is the way I have done it in the past and it was tedious to manually add the fades to each cut. It also was somewhat confusing how to edit the cuts later if I wanted to change the place where the cut occured.
The other method I may try is to place Camera 2 over camera 1 and add a Composite Level Envelope to Camera 2 to fade in and out at certain points.
Anybody have comments or Recommendations. ?
