Epson Ink

Burt - I hate to dignify this thread by making a comment- BUT you'll always find Canon, Epson, HP fans. I've used Epson since 1995 and frankly, the print quality cannot be beat. I use my Epson 2200 with pigment ink to print large photos and nothing compares to the quality. I never use anything but their ink and the quality is phenominal On the other hand, my Canon is used by my kids for their school papers because it prints the best on plain paper for their school projects. My old Epson R200 with generic ink keeps going and going and going and has printed over 2000 DVD's and CD's. I had 3 different HP printers and two scanners at work before I retired last year and they were all C###. The last decent thing HP made was a scope in 1975 and it still wasn't as good as Tectronics! Let's end this thread because it's going nowhere.

Epson print quality is not the issue (although for the record I replaced my epson r320 with a hp c5280 and I prefer the quality of the hp... as well as the increased print speed and overall dependability). It's what they're doing with their ink that is the issue.

The old HP test equipment was like a rock.

Back in the 70's we went dumpster diving for parts. I was able to make a good frequency meter from parts, and the junked boards were gold-plated.

But this is off-topic.

My first printer was an Epson MX-80
