ERROR-file not found

After working in some Vegas sessions and closing them, I have recieved error messages upon reopening which won't allow me to access the project. It reads something along the lines of file not found. How can I recover these projects?

If you haven't deleted them or if you haven't pulled off an external
hardrive Vegas will find them for you. But they have to be on your machine somewhere.

How will vegas find them. Keep in mind, I'm not getting the search for file message, rather it's an error message with no option to relocate to the original or new file. Any suggestions?

If you know you have the veg file for these projects. I would suggest reninstalling Vegas.
