Error message

I have this Sony DVD program for a year. I had no problem rendering videos and menu into DVD. After I rendered the vidoes to the DVD five times, it asked me to make another copy. While it rendered the DVD, it showed error message. It said, "The write failed because the drive returned error information that could not be recovered from." What does that means and how do I fix it? Last time I had that stubborn error, I replaced the DVD burner. I made about 30 copies a day every month for my church. I checked and made sure that it have enough space for the DVD. Also, I deleted 45 minute video and tried to render the DVD. It still failed.
HELP!!!!

Sincerely,
CE Prince

Try preparing your DVD from the project to a new folder with a new name. Delete the old folder.

I am having an error when trying to Render and Burn a DVD with Menus and an Extras Folder. I begin and it starts the Render process. It gets to 100% and then I get a message stating "An error occerred while writing a file. The file is an unsupported format.

I rendered the movie in MPEG-2 (Main Concept) and have rendered the audio in .ac3, .wav and .mp3, the menu uses an image that is a .jpg and an audio file that is .wav.

No matter what audio file I use I get the same error. I tried it without the .wav file on the menue. Same thing.

Also I have tried it with both DVD drives I have.

Any insights?

I'm not sure why you tagged onto this old thread rather than starting your own. Is your problem related to the original posters?

Anyway, what's the total space taken up by the files in the Extras folder?

What is the width and height of the JPEG, in pixels?

How long is the movie you ported from Movie Studio?

Have you tried creating a Prepared File to your hard drive rather than burning directly to a disc?

Steve, I saw Error Message and went for it......

Anyway, what's the total space taken up by the files in the Extras folder? 445 MB

What is the width and height of the JPEG, in pixels? 3488 x 2317

How long is the movie you ported from Movie Studio? about 35 min

Have you tried creating a Prepared File to your hard drive rather than burning directly to a disc? Not yet,

Edit: Steve., I just tried to Render only to a folder on my hard drive and got hte same error. Also FYI, I am running DVDA v5.0 Build 150

Edit #2 : Updated to build 161 and I was able to Render and then Burn the disk. Thanks Steve for getting me to think of some things to try!!

And which MPEG2 setting did you select for your Render As from Movie Studio?

Try sizing the photo down to 640x480 pixels.

Then try rendering your prepared files to a brand new empty folder.
