Hi, this is Ruth Christina, 19 and live in Norway. I have a big problem..my vegas wont work..the video program i have is : Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0
This is it: I first buy'd the movie program, and i choosed to download it, in stead of getting it on mail...it cost more! When i was done downloading it..i clicked on it..and i was waiting..hoping it really was gonna work..but in stead of working..it came up an error message, this is what i got: An error occurred starting Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. Exception thrown by method called. Failed to initialize script host.

I bought this program for $114.90. I really wanna have the money back, if i don't get it to work, like now. Please!! Take contact, and tell me what i can do, to get it 2 work. I'll be very happy, if someone helped me..i contacted the norwegian support..on sony..but they told me this is not the site to get this kinda support..and they were telling me to try another page. I'm very frustrated, and disappointed. Why pay for a program that doesn't work ? ?

Pleasee reply!!

Welcome to the forum, Ruth Christina.

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. I suggest that you try to install it again. First run the uninstall program, reboot your pc, then run the installation program.

Does your PC meet the minimum system requirements?

Thanks..i'm guessing u knew i was new:p lol
And i am! Well..i'll try uninstall it..and then reboot my pc. I try'd once before to uninstall it, and then install it again..without reboot my pc.
I'll try what you said! What did u mean about the last question! (Sorry, my understand in English can be difficult at times!)
Thanks, so far!

You're doing good with your English.

If you already tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still have the problem, you may want to download the software again, maybe the install file is corrupted.

What I meant by my last question was: is your PC "fast" enough. Vegas Movie Studio doesn't require much of the PC but it needs to have certain things as directed here:

Update your forum profile to describe your PC.

You may have a corrupted .NET installation. I found this by searching for your error message. I hope it helps:

Error: "Failed to initialize script host" or "Script host failed to initialize"

Before you follow any of the steps listed, be sure to create a Restore Point first.

Restore point..what ?

To create a restore point in XP follow this path:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > Create a restore point > Next > [give the restore point a title].

This allows you to "restore" the PC (system files/settings) should your PC start to have problems.

I always create a restore point before I install or uninstall software on my PC. I've had to use it a few times.

You can search the web for information, but here is a page with details:
