Hello, I am having problems with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17. I had upgraded to 17 from 16 last May, but hadn’t explored the new version fully, and was using version 16 until I could get a chance to do so. I don’t use the application that frequently, so I don’t know exactly when it stopped working after the month of May. I do know it’s probably been at least a few months and I’ve played around since then trying to figure it out. After 16 stopped working, I tried 17 and had the same problem. I also had 15 which I hadn’t uninstalled. Same thing happened with it. And just to make sure, I re-installed 14, also with no luck.

I theorized that it might be a Windows 10 update that caused it, but I don’t know how to check for that. I’m attaching a file with a photo of the error message and additional info. The error says “Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working” and not much more than that other than the problem details box, which is not helpful to me. The error happens at random times right after start-up, usually within the first minute or two, and independent of what actions I take. If I just activate the program and do nothing else, it fails soon after. I even sometimes get to the point where it’s notifying me of an upgrade, but while it’s downloading, I get the stopped-working message.

My PC’s about 3 years old and I was thinking of getting a new one sooner than later, but I’d like to make sure Movie Studio will work with it.

By the way I have an Asus with 12 Gb RAM, 64 bit OS Intel Core I5 1.6 GHz if that’s important.
