Error when importing .mp4

ElkHunter wrote on 1/4/2014, 8:55 PM
When I import an .mp4 file that was created via Elgato video capture, I receive an error when trying to open it with Vegas Studio.

MSmart and Musicvid10 any more suggestions?

I have been troubleshooting this for the past few days and have installed/reinstalled various versions of software. I'm currently running v12 of Vegas Studio and QT v7.7.4. I've also downloaded the latest drivers from Elgato.

I have a feeling this is a driver issue on my PC, but I don't know which driver I need to update. I can play the video's just fine now in RealPlayer and QT.

Totally lost and won't give up, please help.

Double-posting creates confusion.

Sweet, it works! Thanks musicvid10!!

BTW - I noticed it creates a .m4v file. In RealPlayer I could create the same file extension and it also opened in Vegas Studio.

Am I loosing video/audio quality by converting the .mp4 to m4v?? And what is a better app to do this - Handbrake or RealPlayer.

Thanks again, you made my night!
