Error when opening Vegas 4 project file

Hi all,

I get the following error when opening one particular (and critical) Vegas project file. All other project files open normally.

-------
An error occurred while loading the project file.
The file could not be created. Another file with that name exists.
------

I've been using Vegas for nearly two years and have never seen such an error. Anyone have any insight?

Thanks,
Scott

You created two bins with the same name. Your best hope is to ask Sony to repair the VEG file for you.

Wow. This sucks. I just looked inside the Vegas file and it's not clear text. So I guess I won't be fixing this myself.

I love Vegas, but I'm surprised the developers didn't code this to gracefully handle a duplicated bin name.

How about a pop up memu saying "You are attemting to create a Bin Name of one that already exsists called MyBin? Do you wish to continue? If so this BIN will be called "Copy of MyBin" . . simple really! And I aint no programmer too! - BUT, dear friends, and this is the point, why have this "designed-in"? Isn't this a Windows No-no anyway? Why not close the door before the horse is even thinking about bolting!?!?!

The problem is that the bin names are case-sensitive in some instances and case-insensitive in others. When creating bins, Vegas assumes that "MyBin" and "mybin" are different and allows it. When loading a saved project, whatever part of Vegas parses the .veg file upon loading maps "MyBin" and "mybin" as the same name and it crashes.

Supposedly this bug will be fixed in the next release.

So, it is a bug? - Is this the same contra indication for "TITLE" and "title" and "titlE" .. or whatever combination, in the recent issues of BluffTITLEr? More to the point, why hasn't the Windows code NOT intercepting this anyway? How come it has got under the RADAR?
