Europe - purchase pacakged or download

Have been purchasing ( location Belgium ) all Sony as download since the one time I purchased packaged , had to pay ( good )additonal customs taxes here . ( cause it came from the US ).
Same for books actually coming from US .

Does anybody know whether that has changed in meanwhile ( that it is also being shipped from Sony Germany , for example ).

Doesn´t have to do anything with using it , of course , but way of keeping things together and easily and nice stored.

( and if not , why can´t we download the CD instead of the different exe´s seperately , the CD should not be that big ).

Also downloading everything here (Denmark) exept for the one time I was dumb enough to buy the only 7 Euro backup-CD and got an awesome and impressing bill from the Danish customs starting with something like: "Customs Processing Fee" 20 Euro plus "Customs" xx Euro plus "25 percent VAT" of all above.
I felt like an idiot that MY government took like 5-10 times the original price of the CD for nothing but trying to obstruct the trade US-Denmark.

So: Also a vote from here for beeing able to get these things from SONY Europe - btw: What happened to Ireland, where we got all such things in the not-so-old days??

Yes - I have the same trouble in Denmark as you - even though I am registered as a company wit VAT. no. I have to pay VAT. from Sony.

Ordered vegas pro 9 package from USA and paid VAT [ UK] on the full dispatch bill which included shipping costs ....and then had a handling fee to pay as well.
Cost plus plus....
At least the update was free.....

Sony Creative Software adds EU Tax, so you should be able to take the import tax bill to the tax office along with your Order Confirmation (Invoice) and get one of them returned. As heavily taxed as we are in Denmark, we still only have to pay it once.

I have done both though, and have yet to receive an extra tax for the shipped items. However I'll most likely download in the future, I save on shipping and time, as downloading a few gigs are peanuts these days.
