Event Adjustment Black Screen After Split [Bug - Vegas Pro 21/300]

Marco-Vinc wrote on 4/8/2024, 12:55 PM

As of right now every time I split an event adjustment with an already added FX it will turn the preview into a black screen from the split point forward, with seemingly no way to fix it on the new Vegas Pro 21 (300)

EDIT: Strangely, undoing (ctrl-z) and redoing (ctrl-shift-z) the split fixes the problem and the preview screen isn't a black screen anymore. Also this black screen bug only happens on the preview, the render comes out completely fine.

I'm at a loss at what could be causing this as I'm wondering if it is just me or anyone using the new build, if anyone could kindly test this too it would help a lot

Exactly what are you pressing to initialize the split?

Using the standard split hotkey (s), no scripts involved.

I also tried testing different ways of splitting through the menus and this continues happening using split and smart split, while it doesn't happen using "trim start".

Thank you so much for sharing!

I hope Devs can release some kind of hotfix because while the 300 build is amazing, it effectively breaks one of the best features of Vegas 21, forcing me to go back to the previous build.

@Marco-Vinc You edited your comment since I first read it,, Yep Split - Undo - Redo makes the right half work as it should with the fx showing over the event.

Undoing and redoing only takes a few seconds, or you could just make new adjustment event instead of splitting the first one.

Systems:

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

the undoing/redoing "fix" actually caused my Vegas to crash a couple times already, so it is obviously a sup-optimal solution.

Especially when this bug not only affects FXs but also Pan/Crop and mask changes within the adjustment event.

For someone that constantly uses adjustment events with hundreds of cuts it is an automatic deal breaker, that is why I'm hoping for an hotfix in the coming days.

Exact same issue, hoping for a fix soon, unfortunately had to downgrade as I do this exact action a substantial amount in my workflow

same issue, adjustment events are completely broken in every way and I had to downgrade as well.
I even had still image render bugs, Pan/Crop Bugs, where it either didn't work at all (the F Pan/Crop screen display thingy just wasnt there/movable) or when it "worked" it resulted in a blackscreen as well
