Event FX No Longer FX'ing?

Been on Pro 13 (Win 10) for a while. Suddenly today my event FX doesn't seem to work. I can select an FX (Sony Brightness and Contrast for example) to a clip but adjustments don't apply. Pan/crop seems to work fine. Any idea what stupid thing I may have fat-fingered? Or at least what property or option I should check before I try to get support from Sony? Thanks.

You may have pressed the bypass fx button, it's on top of the preview window.
