I've almost got this pan/crop effect thing down. But I have two questions:
1)I can move the "box" to create the zoom/crop/movement i need, but what does the center dot do?
2) When using stills that are not the correct aspect ratio, I can use the "match output ratio" command from the right-click menu and make the box smaller to zoom, but it seems to immediately start towards the "source" width (or height) instead of staying mostly 4:3 until the restraints of the source are reached. How do I prevent that?
It's fairly hard to explain - but say i have a still that is a square or taller than it is wide, and i want to zoom out from a 4:3 aspect to the source ratio (1:1 for a square or even 2:3 for something taller than it is wide). My beginning keyframe is at the output ratio (4:3) with the rectangle way smaller than the overall picture, and my ending keyframe is whatever the source ratio is (to get the whole picture on the screen, with black on the sides). But instead of the picture filling the screen for half of the zoom and then the black on the sides appearing, it immediately starts to narrow in on the sides, then finish the zoom out, only showing the whole picture at the very end of the zoom out. Is there a setting or curve somewhere to adjust this? Thanks...
