Event Pan/Crop not effecting preview

So I'm pretty sure I've gotten to the point where I understand how to use Event Pan/Crop properly to use key frames and dragging the size of the image/video to make it zoom in/out/etc. However, sometimes when I drag to resize, the big F in the middle changes size, but the image does not. However when I go and play back, the image is getting changed in size. Here's a specific example:

I have a logo. I want to along with the music, make it jump in size from small, to bigger on the 2nd beat, to much bigger on the 3rd beat, to filling the whole screen on the 4th beat. So I changed it from Linear to Hold and made keyframes that line up perfectly with each beat. Then on the first keyframe I shrunk the image down to be very small. Perfect. 2nd keyframe I enlarged the image a little bit. 3rd keyframe I tried to enlarge the image more, but in the Event Pan/Crop window, the actual image doesn't change, just the "F" logo behind it. Then the 4th one I enlarged and it enlarged fine.

Now when I play back, it changes size on all 4! It's very strange. And it seems random which keyframes I can't see the effects of dragging to resize the image on.

Any ideas? I'd like to do some more complex effects with this window, but until I can know that every time I drag to resize, it's going to actually drag and resize visually for me, it's going to be pretty much impossible.

Thanks so much

Think of the F and the Lines with it as a frame. You are adjusting the framing of the shot, similar to looking through a camera. So the preview of the video may not change, but you are changing the framing. Use the lines as your guide.

If you have cursor sync turned on, you should see the video changing in the preview window.

In the effect animation timeline in Pan/Crop you have a current position cursor for what you are adjusting, but the preview windows shows the frame that the project cursor is on. These aren't necessarily the same position. There is a button to the left of the animation timeline that syncs the two cursors together which will assure that when you choose a frame in Pan/Crop the project preview cursor will show the same frame.

Unfortunately, when this is selected then every time you move the cursor in Pan/Crop it will create a new keyframe. It would be nice if there was a way to sync the cursor without creating keyframes, but alas, there isn't. So keep in mind that you might end up creating some new keyframes you don't want and will have to delete.

Well that Sync Cursor position is definitely helpful, thanks! I didn't know about that.

But it's still hard to wrap my head around how big the image is going to be just basing it off the size of the frame that i'm changing. And while it's not doing it now, i'm 100% certain that inside of the Video Event FX box, it will sometime show the image growing/shrinking when I drag to change the size, but sometimes it doesn't... It seems totally random.

I think I made it through this project despite the issues... but I continued to see the problem. Even with cursor sync on... At some keyframes (and it could be the same one, just two times in a row), when I stretched/shrunk the image, it didn't reflect either in the Video Event FX window, or the preview on my 2nd monitor or the preview in the main Vegas window... But sometimes it did. It just seems so random...
