event volume

Is there a way to set the volume of individual audio events separate from each other? I have several songs in a slide show, and one of them is noticeably softer than the others.

Highlight (select) one of the events and press the V key. A blue line will be inserted through the entire track which is a volume envelope. You can double clik anywhere on the line and drag the point up or down to increase/decrease volume. See the help menu and manual for more specifics.

To to simply reduce level, grab the top of the event and drag it down. One way to match levels between events is to normalise all, then tweak with the level 'pull-down'.

Note that you can only drag the volume bar DOWN...it doesn't go UP from its default setting. If you need to go up (after following Geoff's suggestion to normalize first), then you can raise volume by using the automation volume slider while playing the file, then adjust by hand on the volume envelope bar.
