Another EX1 related question. At its best setting the EX1 records MPEG-2 Long GOP[br}HQ mode: VBR, with a maximum bit rate of 35 Mb/s per the Sony specs, yet 8-bit 1920x1080@24fps is 95 Mb/s. How are these two numbers reconciled?
Really depends on the amount of difference between frames as it does for any mpeg-2 encoding system. It's not a question fo what Vegas cannor get back it's a question of what the encoder looses to fit it into the available bandwith. If all you're shooting is a static scene and there's no noise from the imagers then you can encode that into a very tiny amount of bandwidth.
Keep in mind if you're shooting 24fps you don't want too much full frame motion anyway for other reasons.
